Pharmacy POS FAQ.
What is pharmacy POS software?
Pharmacy POS (point of sale) software is the billing screen at the counter. A good one also updates stock the moment you sell, takes it from the right batch, and records who made each sale.
How is a pharmacy POS different from a normal shop POS?
Medicines have batch numbers and expiry dates. A pharmacy POS has to know which batch it is selling from. JPharmaPlus sells from the batch that expires first (FEFO), which a general retail POS usually cannot do.
Which receipt printers work with JPharmaPlus?
Receipts are laid out for standard 80mm and 58mm thermal printers and print from the browser, so any thermal printer installed on your Windows PC or laptop can be used.
Can I give discounts and add sales tax?
Yes. Apply a discount as a fixed amount or a percentage on each sale. Set your sales tax percentage once in shop settings, and it is added to the discounted total automatically.
Can each cashier have their own login?
Yes. The owner creates cashier accounts and chooses on the Roles & Permissions screen what cashiers can open, for example sales and quotations but not reports or purchases. Every invoice is saved against the user who made it.
Can I bill two customers at the same time?
Yes. The sale invoice screen keeps several invoices open in tabs, so you can start the next customer while another is still deciding. Open tabs are kept even if the page is refreshed.
Can I give a customer a quotation first?
Yes. Save the invoice as a quotation instead of a sale, print it, and convert it to a sale with one click later. Stock is deducted only when it becomes a sale.
Does the POS work offline?
No. JPharmaPlus is cloud software, so the counter needs an internet connection. The upside is that sales from every counter and device land in the same place instantly.
